Sofrelog has been selected to supply a VTS System for The Port
of Dalian, China
The China Communications Import & Export Corporation has selected
SOFRELOG, for the design and installation of its new, fully integrated
System of Maritime Traffic Control project. This system will be
based on SOFRELOG's SYTAR technology, and will integrate a number
of associated functions into a comprehensive information and control
platform.
The objective of the system is to provide security and management
of vessel traffic throughout the port area and approaches, monitor
weather conditions, and link with database systems. The contract
was signed on the 1st of February 2002 by representatives of the
customer and Mr. Georges Roy (President of SOFRELOG) in Dalian.
Three radars provide the primary information source to the Sofrelog
SYTAR Multiple Radar Tracker Processor. Universal AIS data are also
received and correlated with radar tracks. Radios are used to communicate
and cameras to monitor specific areas of traffic. All data are transferred
using digital microwaves inside the port.
Static information are collected and stored in a specialized database
information system enabling to dispatch data to several of the port
users.
All traffic data (radar video, tracks and voice communications)
are recorded by the VTS server and can be replayed synchronously
for incident analysis and training purposes.
The modular design of SYTAR technology will also permit seamless
future port expansion plans.
